Testpress, Classplus and ParikshaDesk Alternatives for Online Tests, by Institute Size

If you mainly sell courses and live classes through your own app, an all-in-one teaching app such as Classplus is the closer fit; if you mainly run test series, a test platform such as Testpress, ParikshaDesk or ConductExam fits better. If you need mixed answer formats, including handwritten and coding, and certificates anyone can check online, a third kind of tool, an exam-and-certificate platform that sits beside your existing app, is worth a look.

I should say up front that we build one of those third-kind tools, LogicWiz Exams. I've described every product below from its own website, read on 14 October 2026, and linked the page so you can check what I read. Where a vendor's page didn't say something, I've said so instead of guessing.

The quick version:

  • Under about 50 students and mostly multiple choice: start with a free plan. ParikshaDesk's free plan covers up to 50 students.
  • 200 to 500 students selling test series: a test-series platform with payments and exam templates, such as Testpress or ParikshaDesk.
  • Recorded courses, live classes and your own branded app: Classplus.
  • College department or skills course needing written, coding or handwritten answers plus checkable certificates: an exam-and-certificate tool.

Three kinds of tool, and which problem each solves

The alternatives lists I read mix these up, which makes them hard to use.

All-in-one teaching apps are built around selling content. Classplus's homepage leads with growing your online teaching brand: live classes, selling courses online and marketing help. Tests are one feature among many. A Techjockey listing (a third-party directory, undated) describes online tests with automatic checking and a coaching app carrying the institute's name and logo.

Test-series platforms are built around the exam itself. Testpress's online exam page lists bulk question upload from Word or Excel, multilingual questions, multi-section exams, exam templates for IBPS, SBI, SSC, GATE, IIT JEE, NEET PG and NMAT, leaderboards and an integrated payment system to sell exams. Its homepage adds objective and subjective questions, webcam proctoring and an LMS with video streaming. ParikshaDesk positions itself for Indian coaching owners preparing students for SSC, banking and state exams, with MCQ auto-grading, rankings, PDF reports, fee collection and white-label branding with sub-domains. ConductExam says it supports subjective and objective tests, aptitude tests and MCQs.

Exam-and-certificate platforms focus on what happens around a serious assessment: mixed answer formats, marking written work, proctoring, and a certificate an employer can verify. These usually sit beside whatever app you already use for classes and content.

For a 50-student institute

At this size your problem is usually time. You're writing questions, sharing them on WhatsApp or Google Forms, and marking by hand. You need something that marks multiple choice automatically and keeps results in one place, and you don't need a branded app yet.

ParikshaDesk's pricing page lists a free plan for up to 50 students with up to 10 tests a month, a Starter plan at ₹499 a month for up to 100 students with custom branding, and a Growth plan at ₹1,499 a month for unlimited students. That free tier is the clearest no-cost starting point I found among these vendors.

What to check at this size: how quickly you can import questions you already have in Word or Excel, whether students can take tests on a phone browser without installing anything, and whether you can export results.

For a 200 to 500-student institute

Now you're probably selling test series, running several batches, and competing with institutes that have their own app. You need payments, exam templates that look like the real exam, rankings across batches and analytics that show which topics students struggle with.

Testpress is built for this case. Its exam page leans into selling online exams as a revenue source and simulating real exam templates. Pricing isn't on its exam pages, which route to a demo, though its certificates page shows LMS plans from 120 USD a month billed annually. ParikshaDesk's Growth plan covers unlimited students and adds a parent app.

If your business is mostly recorded courses and live classes, with tests as a supporting feature, Classplus is the one designed around that.

What to check at this size: whether the branded app is published under your name on the Play Store or as a sub-account of the vendor's app, how payments and refunds work, and how many staff accounts you get.

For a college department or skills course

A college department or a skills course has different needs. Answers are often written explanations, code or worked maths alongside multiple choice. Marks may feed into an internal assessment, so someone needs to review written answers properly. And a certificate a student will show to an employer needs to be checkable without anyone emailing you.

Ask how each platform handles subjective answers. Testpress and ConductExam both list subjective questions. Neither page I read says whether students can photograph handwritten working or how subjective answers are marked, so ask in the demo. I wrote a separate guide on marking handwritten answers in an online test.

On certificates, Testpress's certificates page describes PDF certificates from customisable templates, issued automatically when students meet the criteria you set. It doesn't mention a public verification page or QR code, so ask about that too. For what makes a certificate checkable, see how to make your institute's certificates verifiable and, from the reader's side, how to check if a course certificate is real.

Feature table

What each vendor's own page says, checked on 14 October 2026. A blank means I couldn't find it on the pages linked, not that the product lacks it.

Questions to ask in any demo

  1. Can I import my existing questions from Word or Excel, and how are maths equations and images handled?
  2. Which answer formats can students submit: multiple choice, typed text, code, photos of handwritten pages?
  3. Who marks written answers, and if AI suggests a mark, does a teacher approve it before students see it?
  4. What does proctoring actually record, where is it stored, and who reviews flags?
  5. Is the branded app published under my name, or inside the vendor's app?
  6. Can an employer verify a certificate without contacting me?
  7. Can I export all results and student data if I leave?
  8. What does pricing look like at twice my current student count?

Where LogicWiz Exams fits

LogicWiz Exams is in early access and is the third kind of tool above. One exam can mix multiple choice, typed written answers, coding and handwritten answers photographed with a phone. Multiple choice is marked automatically, and for typed written and coding answers AI can suggest a mark with reasons for each rubric point, which a teacher accepts or changes. Questions can be added one by one, from a question bank, generated with AI, or imported from Excel or CSV. Certificates carry your institute's name and logo, a certificate number, a QR code and a public verification page that anyone can open without an account, and results export to Excel.

It works alongside an existing app. If Classplus or Testpress already runs your classes and content, you can keep it and use LogicWiz for the exams where format and verification matter. The white-label checklist and my earlier comparison of online exam software for coaching institutes cover the other things to weigh.

Common questions

Is there a free Testpress alternative?

ParikshaDesk's pricing page lists a free plan for up to 50 students and 10 tests a month, checked on 14 October 2026. Google Forms is free too, though it lacks timed sections, rankings and proctoring.

Do I need a branded app to run online tests?

No. Students can take tests in a mobile browser on most platforms. A branded app helps with marketing and course sales, which matters more if you sell content than if you only run exams.

Can I keep my current app and use a separate exam tool?

Yes. You can keep your teaching app for classes and content and use a separate platform for exams that need written, coding or handwritten answers, or certificates with a verification page.

Which platforms issue verifiable certificates?

Check for a public verification page and a QR code on each certificate. Testpress's certificates page describes PDF certificates without mentioning verification, and LogicWiz Exams issues certificates with a QR code and a public verify page. Ask any vendor to show you a live verification link.

Which is cheapest for a small coaching centre?

Among the vendors here, only ParikshaDesk publishes plans in rupees, starting at ₹0. For the others you'll need a quote, so ask for the price at your current student count and at double it.
