Free TCS NQT mock tests online: what is free and what is paid (2026)
Last updated · By LogicWiz Team
Short answer: TCS iON's own National Qualifier Test page offers a free sample test, and LogicWiz offers two free timed TCS NQT-style mocks with a percentile and no sign-up. PrepInsta, hitbullseye, GeeksforGeeks and Time4Education mix free material with paid full series, and FACE Prep's pattern page does not say whether its mock is free. LogicWiz is one of the options and not neutral, so check each page's terms before you pay.
Students searching for a free TCS NQT mock test online usually find a mix of free samples, free first tests and paid series that look alike. This page sorts them by what each site's own page said on 22 October 2026, shows how to check that a mock matches the real test, and gives a plan for the last two weeks. We link every site so you can confirm the current terms yourself, and we say "paid" without prices because prices change. LogicWiz is one of the options and we are not neutral. We are not affiliated with TCS or any site named here.
Free vs paid at a glance (checked 22 Oct 2026)
| Source | Free | Paid or unclear |
|---|---|---|
| TCS iON National Qualifier Test page | Sample tests, and some variants list one free practice test | The test itself is paid; larger prep packs list more practice tests |
| FACE Prep | Free pattern article (May 2026) | The page does not say whether its mock test is free or paid |
| hitbullseye | A free mock for a TCS paper, which appears to need a login | The complete preparation course is paid |
| PrepInsta | Free section-wise practice questions with explanations | A "PrepInsta Mock" sits under its Prime menu, and the 150+ hour prep course is listed as part of Prime; the page does not confirm which mocks are free |
| GeeksforGeeks | The course page does not say which parts are free | The TCS NQT course lists mock tests and needs enrolment |
| Naukri Code360 | Our reader was blocked (HTTP 403) on 22 Oct, so we could not confirm | Check the page for sign-in and any charge |
| Time4Education | Our reader could not load the TCS NQT listing text | Its search listings show TCS NQT test series with 5 or 10 online mocks and a limited validity, sold as paid |
| LogicWiz | Two timed mocks (Foundation and Advanced aptitude), no sign-up, with solutions and a percentile | One full mock a day on the free plan; higher limits are paid (see pricing) |
What each source offers
The official TCS iON page. It is the only source for the rules. Its FAQ says the test has no negative marking, is held only in-centre at TCS iON authorised centres, and is in English only. The score is valid for two years from the result date. Sample tests are offered for the Cognitive, IT, BFSI and Non Tech variants, and some variants list one free practice test while prep packs list more. Use this first because it shows the real screen, buttons and navigation.
FACE Prep. Its pattern article (May 2026) reports 83 questions in 190 minutes and states there is no negative marking, attributing that to TCS's FAQ. It links to a mock article with worked answers but does not state whether that mock is free.
hitbullseye. Its TCS page offers a free mock based on TCS question papers (log in to access it) and a free preparation course sign-up. The complete course is paid. The page does not mention the NQT by name, so ask whether the free mock follows the current NQT format.
PrepInsta. The TCS NQT page has free practice questions with explanations, and repeats "No Negative Marking". It reports 65 Foundation questions in 76 minutes. The page has no clear update date and carries a "Placement Paper 2025" heading, so treat its figures as reported.
GeeksforGeeks. The TCS NQT course page lists concept videos, articles, practice MCQs, coding problems and mock tests, and asks you to enrol. GeeksforGeeks is strongest for the coding part.
Naukri Code360 and Time4Education. Both sell TCS NQT mock series according to their listings, but we could not read the page text, so we state only that. Confirm free or paid, the number of mocks and the year of the pattern before you buy.
LogicWiz. Our TCS NQT page offers a free Foundation mock (65 questions, 75 minutes) and a free Advanced aptitude mock (26 questions, 50 minutes). Each ends with solutions and a percentile, and no account is needed. Our weaknesses: the questions are written by us in the style of the reported pattern, not TCS's real questions, the free plan limits you to one full mock a day, and we do not offer a coding test series for the Advanced coding part.
How to check that a mock is realistic
- Does it name its sources and date? TCS does not publish question counts or section timings, so any pattern comes from candidates and prep sites. A good mock says which and when, as in "65 Foundation questions, as reported, Oct 2026" with the sources linked (see the table in how to prepare for TCS NQT in 30 days).
- Does it use sectional clocks? Prep sites report separate 25-minute clocks for numerical, verbal and reasoning, and that you cannot go back to a finished section. A mock with one 75-minute clock trains the wrong habit. PrepInsta reports 76 minutes in total and FACE Prep reports 75, so a one-minute gap is not a red flag.
- Is there negative marking? TCS iON says there is none, so a mock that deducts marks for wrong answers teaches you to skip questions you should attempt.
- Is it in English, on a screen, in one sitting? That matches the official format.
- Does the report show sections? Section scores tell you what to fix. A single total does not.
- Is the paper original? Real papers are confidential. Be wary of any site that claims "actual" questions.
Using mocks in the last two weeks
- Days 14 to 11: One full Foundation mock cold, then review every wrong answer and the questions you got right slowly.
- Days 10 to 6: Practise weak sections on their own 25-minute clock, then take a second full mock from a different source.
- Days 5 to 3: If you are going for Digital or Prime, take the Advanced aptitude mock and one coding set timed.
- Days 2 to 1: Open the official sample test to get used to the screen, rest, and do light revision only.
- Always: Answer every question, as there is no negative marking according to TCS iON. For the full topic plan, see aptitude preparation for placements and free placement preparation resources.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a free TCS NQT mock test online?
Yes. TCS iON's own page offers sample tests, hitbullseye has a free TCS mock behind a login, PrepInsta has free practice questions, and LogicWiz has two free timed TCS NQT-style mocks with no sign-up. Full series on most sites are paid.
Is there negative marking in the TCS NQT?
TCS iON's FAQ says there is no negative marking. FACE Prep and PrepInsta repeat this. Check the instructions for your own drive.
How many mock tests should I take before the TCS NQT?
Three or four full mocks from at least two sources, with a day of review after each, is enough for most students. The review matters more than the count.
Is the TCS NQT held online from home?
According to TCS iON's FAQ, it is held only in-centre at TCS iON authorised exam centres, in English. Confirm for your drive.
Are LogicWiz's mocks real TCS questions?
No. We write original questions in the style of the publicly reported pattern. Real papers are confidential.
